Athan “Tom” Prakas, president/broker of The Prakas Group, Inc., a Boca Raton-based brokerage specializing in commercial transactions, business brokerage, restaurants and hospitality properties, has completed a restaurant sale in Orange County.
Maria Bonomo, vice president of restaurant and hospitality for the Orlando office of The Prakas Group, Inc., was exclusive broker for the sale.
James and Julie Petrakis have purchased a 4,200 square foot restaurant located in Winter Park, formerly known as Popolo Bistro. Executive chefs and owners James and Julie Petrakis were part of the successful teams at both Luma and Greens & Grille. In the Popolo location, the buyers plan to open Orlando’s premier Chicago style gastropub called The Ravenous Pig, Opening is projected for this fall.
Bonomo represented the buyer as well as the seller, Don Shaver, former owner of Popolo, Socca, and Za Bella. The Prakas Group, established in 2000, is on track to close more than $300 million in sales over a six-year period. The firm is headquartered at 705 E. Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton.
